Exams Explained

It may be that you only want to dance as social hobby or you may wish to develop your interest further.

Our classes are structured to allow pupils if they wish to take annual examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) / Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (ISTD) / Acrobatic Arts / Associated Board of Dance (ABD) / ICMA (Music, Speech and Drama).

The IDTA / ISTD / ABD / ICMA are supported by OFQUAL awarding body which means the graded examinations they offer are approved and monitored by OFQUAL.

Exams are a measure of your technical ability, presentation and musical awareness and are an ideal way to encourage and map your progress in your chosen performing arts style.

Exams are not compulsory but are very popular with students. Most students take part in them and enjoy the sense of achievement.

For more information of examinations and the benefits they provide please see Graded Examinations….. The definitive guide http://www.cdet.org.uk/download/guide/Graded-Exams.pdf
